Amanda has dabbled in freelance marketing for over a decade, contributing to Fourth Street Roofing Company, as well as freelance opportunities for the Covington Business Association; local, political campaigns; and local businesses.
Amanda founded “Explore Covington” in 2017 and has served on the Covington City Park board since 2016. She was awarded the Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service in 2019, for her work on the Covington City Park Playground and Splash Pad Project. She has written numerous grants for the betterment of the Covington City Park, totaling more than 1 million dollars in grant awards. Amanda also serves on the Small Grants Committee for the Covington Community Foundation, part of the Western Indiana Community Foundation.
Amanda is a Registered Nurse, by education, with experience in long-term care, rehabilitation and emergency services. She has been awarded multiple honors, in the healthcare industry, including a Daisy Nomination. Amanda served on the inaugural Fountain County Health Board, from 2023-2024. She currently works, as needed, for Simply You Med Spa, in Covington, as an IV Hydration Nurse.
Amanda and Allen have been married since 2008 and have three children, Reis, a freshman at Indiana University - Bloomington; Remi a freshman at Covington High School, actively involved in cheerleading, dance team and tennis, and Jude, an 8th grader at CMS, active with tennis. They also share two dogs, Milo, a five year-old Morkie, and Ollie a one year-old Havapoo.
Amanda is a running enthusiast, having completed several half marathons and full marathons. She also enjoys nature and travel, and is aLittle Free Library Steward.
Allen Strawser, Founder of Fourth Street Roofing Company has more than 25 years of experience, in the West Central Indiana region, replacing more than 2,000 residential roofs. His construction expertise extends beyond residential roofing and includes: siding, windows, patios and decks, fencing, room additions, garages, bathroom and kitchen remodels and new construction.
Allen is a Covington-native, where he currently resides with his wife, Amanda, three children, Reis, Remi, Jude, and two dogs, Milo and Ollie.
